US President Donald Trump stated via a tweet that all residents of Tehran should evacuate immediately, writes BBC.

«Iran should have signed this "deal" that I ordered them to sign. What a shame, how many wasted deaths. Simply put, IRAN CANNOT HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS. I have said this again and again! Everyone must evacuate Tehran immediately!» — Trump's message said on his TruthSocial network.

As is often the case with Trump's statements, what exactly he meant is unclear.

Shortly after Donald Trump tweeted that all Tehran residents should evacuate immediately, his press secretary similarly announced that he was leaving the G7 summit in Canada early to "attend to many important matters."

«Due to what is happening in the Middle East, President Trump will depart today after dinner with the heads of state,» White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X.

Trump also ordered a meeting of the National Security Council to be convened at the White House – this was reported by journalists from two American TV channels.

Initially, Fox News reporter on X reported Trump's decision to urgently convene the National Security Council in the White House Situation Room, and soon after, CNN received the same information from an anonymous source in the Trump administration.

CNN adds that its source did not specify whether Trump wanted to convene the council immediately or upon his return from Canada.

The US National Security Council includes top officials, including the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, and the Director of National Intelligence.
