Myanmar's diplomatic mission in Minsk will be upgraded to an embassy.
Myanmar and Belarus have decided to strengthen diplomatic ties. After negotiations with Alexander Lukashenko, the acting president of Myanmar, Min Aung Hlaing, announced that his country's representative office in Minsk would be upgraded to embassy level. The possibility of opening a Belarusian diplomatic mission in Myanmar is also being discussed, Belta reports.

According to Min Aung Hlaing, relations between the countries are now at their highest level. The parties discussed accelerating the implementation of previous agreements and further cooperation in various fields - from defense and agriculture to education, science, healthcare, sports and tourism.
The Myanmar leader called Belarus "the most reliable country for Myanmar" and stressed that Lukashenko's visit was a historic event, as it is the first such visit since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
