Today in Washington, D.C., the draw was held for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. For the first time, 48 national teams will participate. They are divided into 12 groups of four teams each.

A: Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, (play-off winner: Denmark, North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Ireland).

B: Canada, Qatar, Switzerland, (play-off winner: Italy, Northern Ireland, Wales, Bosnia).

C: Brazil, Morocco, Scotland, Haiti.

D: USA, Paraguay, Australia, (play-off winner: Turkey, Romania, Slovakia, Kosovo).

E: Germany, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, Curacao.

F: Netherlands, Japan, Tunisia, (play-off winner: Ukraine, Sweden, Poland, Albania).

G: Belgium, Iran, Egypt, New Zealand.

H: Spain, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Cape Verde.

I: France, Senegal, Norway, (play-off winner: Iraq, Bolivia, Suriname).

J: Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Jordan.

K: Portugal, Colombia, Uzbekistan, (play-off winner: DR Congo, Jamaica, New Caledonia)

L: England, Croatia, Panama, Ghana.

The opening match will be between the USA and Paraguay.

The top two teams from each group, as well as the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the play-offs.

Six teams are still unknown: four from Europe and two from intercontinental play-offs. These play-off matches will take place in March.

16 European teams (12 that finished second in the qualifying groups and 4 from the League of Nations) are divided into four play-off paths, with four teams in each. The play-off matches will be in a one-match semi-final format, followed by a final.
