Villager stole a metal cross from the cemetery on the same day after installation, then got scared and returned it
The absence of a recently installed cross in one of the villages in Kamyanets district was discovered the next morning.

The day before, local residents, using collected funds, replaced a wooden cross with a metal one and installed it, cementing the base of the structure, reports the State Forensic Examination Committee.
Employees of the relevant authorities inspected the scene of the theft and interviewed local residents.
The next morning, to everyone's surprise, the stolen metal cross was re-cemented in the exact same spot.
The theft was committed by a local resident who decided to install the cross in another place — in the cemetery. Fearing punishment, the man returned the stolen item to its original place overnight.
