Margarita Levchuk Even Underwent a Polygraph Test to Obtain Ukrainian Permanent Residency
Famous Belarusian opera singer Margarita Levchuk, who has been living in Ukraine for several years, married its defender and gave birth to a son. She told on Instagram what a thorny path she had to go through to obtain a permanent residency permit in this country.

The path for a Belarusian woman to be considered a human in Ukraine now:
- marry a Ukrainian man;
- give birth to a Ukrainian son;
- collect many different documents, have them translated multiple times, because terrible translators can't get it right the first time;
- spend an hour on an SBU interrogation;
- two hours undergoing a polygraph test;
- wait eight months;
- finally see a written permit for obtaining permanent residency;
- but before receiving the plastic ID itself, wait for migration representatives to check the registration address;
- receive another permit from the SBU.
And voilà:
I have Ukrainian permanent residency, and today I'll even have a drink," — wrote Margarita Levchuk.
