A significant increase in acute respiratory viral infections and influenza is possible by the end of January — early February 2026. This was warned by the Ministry of Health.

As noted on the agency's website, an increase in the number of ARVI and influenza cases is currently being recorded in Belarus.

"The situation is understandable and related to the return of children and adults to collectives after the completion of the New Year and Christmas holidays," emphasized the Ministry of Health.

However, the current incidence rates in the country do not deviate from the average long-term values.

However, observations conducted over the years confirm that influenza predominantly affects those people who have not been vaccinated this season.

In Belarus, according to laboratory monitoring data, an activation of influenza A(H3N2) viruses is noted. There are isolated cases of influenza B virus detection.

Meanwhile, non-influenza ARVI pathogens continue to circulate. These are parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, bocaparvoviruses, metapneumoviruses, seasonal coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2 virus, noted the Ministry of Health.
