New Cyclone "Leoni" Arrives in Belarus, Bringing Freezing Rain
Freezing rain and sharp temperature changes have been brought to Belarus by cyclone "Leoni". According to meteorologists' forecasts, the bad weather will mostly affect the southwestern and central regions of the country. Due to dangerous conditions, Belhydromet has announced an orange threat level, reports CTV.

Temperatures fluctuate from -7 to +2 degrees Celsius, which contributes to ice formation. The State Automobile Inspectorate urges drivers to be extremely careful, adhere to speed limits, and take into account the challenging road conditions.
According to traffic police representatives, black ice will appear on the roads by evening, and in some places, glazed frost. In the north of the country, snowpack will complicate traffic.
Drivers are advised to avoid sudden maneuvers and braking, maintain a safe distance and side interval, move at the general speed of the traffic flow, and turn on low beam headlights. Pedestrians should use reflective elements and cross the road only in permitted areas, ensuring safety.
Residents of Brest have already experienced the consequences of the bad weather. After a thaw with positive temperatures, rain fell, and within just an hour, sidewalks were covered with ice. Utility services promptly began treating roads with sand-salt mixture and clearing snow along the streets. More than 70 units of equipment were involved in the work. Over 1200 boxes with sand for treating sidewalks have been installed in the city.
Rescuers remind that black ice carries a number of risks: possible damage or breaks in communication and power lines, complications in transport movement, an increase in the number of road accidents and injuries among the population. In such conditions, it is important to exercise special caution.
