Karaeu revealed where his sons are working now
Yury Karaeu, head of the Hrodna region and former Minister of Internal Affairs, spoke about his family in a culinary show on STB.
His eldest son Herman continues to work as a karate coach at the "Tasay" club. He coaches children in several schools.

"And the younger one flew in yesterday from China, where he is studying Chinese and working for one of the industrial organizations. They have a cooperation there with the Chinese, and they need a specialist who will be both an interpreter and a manager for related goods," said the head of the Hrodna region.

Previously, Karaeu's younger son Aleh worked as a civilian employee in military unit 5448. Afterwards, he studied in China in the interests of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is a practice where young officers are sent for several years to study abroad at the expense of the budget, through a competitive process.
Karaeu also mentioned that his parents reacted differently when he went to serve in Belarus.
"My father took it normally, but my mother suffered all her life that I don't live at home and don't live in Ossetia. A military man, while building a career and serving, cannot live in a small area and serve in one place — he is obliged to move."
Karaeu met his wife in Minsk during his service, encountering her in a restaurant. More than a year after meeting, the couple got married. "My wife always followed me. She was quite calm about it."
Karaeu visits his homeland in Ossetia once or twice a year. The last time was in November for a nephew's wedding, where 300 people gathered. And at his cousin's wedding in 2024, there were as many as 600 guests.
