Gaidukevich: A bicycle and a scooter are better for a woman than a car

The head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus, MP Oleg Gaidukevich, in a conversation with journalist Alena Radovskaya, shared a story from his family life which, in his opinion, illustrates women's relationship with vehicles. He posted this part of the conversation on his Threads page.
"I was married for 18 years. For 18 years my wife forgot to refuel! She constantly stopped in the middle of the city, called me and said: 'I'm out of gas.' And it was like that for 18 years.
I put a canister, I asked the driver to refuel it — nothing changed in 18 years. That's how you women are behind the wheel!
And no matter what car you buy — the bumper is broken after a week. 18 years the bumper is broken, 18 years the car stands in the middle of the city without gas!" Gaidukevich shouted with his usual emotionality.
To the journalist's question whether his wife drives now, and who refuels and repairs her bumper, the politician, rubbing his nose (a sign of deception), reminded that he is now divorced and assured:
"An ex-husband. An ex-husband is forever. (...) Well, how can you refuse an ex-wife? How? If an ex-wife calls, who? Who will help?"
"My opinion: a bicycle, an electric scooter, a big helmet are better for a woman — and so she can quietly go wherever she needs," Gaidukevich continued.
Maria, Oleg Gaidukevich's ex-wife, moved to her parents in the USA after the divorce, but now, it seems, she has returned. She works as a yoga instructor in Minsk.
Maria's father is Valentin Shukhno, the former chairman of the State Committee for Securities.
