On the morning of February 2, at around 8 AM, 41-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Zion was waiting for a flight in one of the cafes at Madrid airport. At that moment, two men approached him, acting very carefully and discreetly, reports El Mundo.

The men took the backpack from the unsuspecting singer. It contained a large sum of cash (approximately $2.4—2.5 million) and valuable items, including an iPhone, four luxury watches (two Rolex and two Patek Philippe), as well as other personal items of great sentimental value.

However, the theft, fortunately for the victim, did not go unnoticed. Two plainclothes police officers were patrolling the terminal and noticed the suspects, immediately beginning to follow them. A few minutes later, they were apprehended and all stolen items were recovered.

The arrested individuals are a 31-year-old Algerian citizen and a 29-year-old Moroccan. Both have numerous convictions for similar crimes at airports. Police determined that they specialize in distraction thefts, exploiting the chaos and crowds in public places.

Following the arrests, all items were immediately returned to their owner.
