Resident of Gomel promised to deliver a parcel worth 10 thousand rubles, but ate all the products from it
A Muscovite woman prepared an expensive parcel for her son and his family in Vitebsk. She decided not to send it by post, but to deliver it by train. Details were reported to the "Belka" publication by the Gomel prosecutor's office.
Having packed gifts worth 10 thousand Belarusian rubles into the parcel, the woman went to the Belarusian railway station. On the platform, she started looking for someone who could deliver the parcel to her relatives. A 39-year-old Gomel resident, previously convicted 12 times for theft, responded to her request for help.
The woman handed him the bag containing items worth her two-month income. She even thanked him with vodka and money.
However, the train the accused was on didn't even stop in Vitebsk. As soon as the man arrived in Gomel, he went to visit an acquaintance, where cod liver, red and black caviar, red fish, and other delicacies that the grandmother had bought for her grandson were taken from the stranger's bag and eaten.
Meanwhile, the woman's daughter-in-law, not having received the parcel in Vitebsk, contacted the police. The thief was found.
«Jewelry for the daughter-in-law, books and clothes for all family members were successfully returned. But products for a considerable sum are lost forever. For the next, already 13th time, the man will be tried for repeated theft. At the moment, due to alcohol abuse, he is in an LPP (medical-labor preventive dispensary)», — reported the Gomel prosecutor's office.
