«Decline is a choice». Marco Rubio in Munich called on the West to admit mistakes and update the world order
The US Secretary of State stated at the Munich Security Conference that the West made strategic miscalculations in matters of free trade, climate policy, and migration, writes Bild.

According to him, countries «together made these mistakes» by transferring part of sovereignty to international structures, succumbing to «the climate sect and unprecedented mass migration».
«National security is not just a technical issue. How much we spend on armaments, how we use them — these are important questions, but not the most crucial ones. The key question we must answer is: what exactly are we defending? Armies fight for people, armies fight for nations, armies fight for a way of life,» — noted Rubio.
The head of the State Department also called for reforming international institutions, not eliminating them. The UN, in his opinion, is capable of being useful, but has never been able to resolve key crises.
He recalled that American leadership was needed on the issues of a ceasefire in Gaza and negotiations on Ukraine.
«Decline is a choice. The US does not want to be the leaders of a controlled decline and counts on strong allies,» — summarized Rubio.
