In Abkhazia, 30-year-old Belarusian citizen Hanna Haeva sought help from the local Ministry of Internal Affairs through volunteers. The woman reported brutal treatment by her husband – a resident of Abkhazia, writes Tochka.by.

According to the Belarusian woman, her husband threatened her, took away her phone and documents — marriage and birth certificates for the children — and also blocked access to the apartment where all her personal belongings remained. As a result, Hanna, along with her two young children (three and four years old), found herself practically on the street without means of subsistence.

Abkhazian police officers conducted a check based on the appeal. They reported that both sides of the conflict were questioned and measures are being taken to return the woman's documents, ensure her access to housing and personal belongings.

Later, volunteers joined the situation. They organized a fundraiser, purchasing tickets for Hanna and her children so they could return to Belarus.

It has not yet been reported whether the husband will be held accountable.
