«Mr. President,

For four years, you have been unable to accept the position of the sovereign Hungarian government and the Hungarian people regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war.

For four years, you have been working to force Hungary into the war between your country and Russia. During this time, you have received support from Brussels and secured the backing of the Hungarian opposition.

We also see that you, Brussels, and the Hungarian opposition are coordinating efforts to bring a pro-Ukrainian government to power in Hungary,» writes Orban.

He says that the shutdown of the "Druzhba" oil pipeline, which is crucial for Hungary's energy supply, jeopardizes the energy security of Hungarian families.

«Therefore, I call on you to change your anti-Hungarian policy!

We, the Hungarian people, are not responsible for the situation Ukraine finds itself in. We sympathize with the Ukrainian people, but we do not wish to participate in the war. We do not want to finance military efforts and do not want to pay more for energy,» writes Orban.

He called for the immediate resumption of the pipeline's operation.

«More respect for Hungary!» — concluded Orban in the open letter.

The political crisis between Ukraine and Hungary has escalated again amidst the situation with the "Druzhba" oil pipeline, which Moscow struck. Ukraine stated that the pipeline was damaged, requiring repair and safety checks, hence transit has been completely suspended.
