Minsk resident died after choking on a piece of meat
A father, visiting his son, found him on the floor without signs of life. Medics could only confirm the death of the 55-year-old Minsk resident.
The man's death occurred due to mechanical asphyxia as a result of his airways being blocked by a piece of meat, reports the State Forensic Examination Committee.
During the forensic chemical examination, ethanol was found in the blood at a concentration of 2.8‰.
Experts note that in a state of alcohol intoxication, a person's gag and cough reflexes are dulled, coordination and sensitivity are impaired, and the muscles of the pharynx and esophagus relax. Therefore, combining a large amount of alcohol and food requires special caution.
