The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American B-2 Spirit stealth bombers struck Iran overnight.

A CENTCOM post on the X social network states that B-2s, armed with 900-kilogram bombs, attacked fortified facilities linked to Iran's ballistic missiles. The statement also emphasized that "no one should doubt America's resolve".

Previously, specialized and OSINT sources reported on the use of B-2s. In particular, the British OSINT account DefenceGeek wrote about a night mission of four B-2s, flying from Whiteman Air Force Base (Missouri) and striking targets in Iran. It claimed that at least 13 refuelling aircraft, deployed along the route "from the Azores to Cyprus," might have been involved in supporting the sortie. These details remain officially unconfirmed.

In parallel, the specialized publication The Aviationist reported that the USA used B-2s, which, according to their data, completed a long-range mission and successfully returned to base in the USA after the strikes.

The use of B-2s is typically associated with missions against heavily defended or deeply buried targets. However, beyond what CENTCOM announced (strikes on fortified missile facilities), there is currently little information about the specific targets and results of the strikes in official reports.
