US President Donald Trump, in a phone interview with CNN, noted that after the strikes on Iran, the biggest surprise for him was Tehran's attacks on a number of Arab countries in the region — the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, and Kuwait.

In the CNN interview, he stated that the US supposedly controlled the situation and informed the countries of the region about it, but now they are demanding more active participation and entering the conflict more aggressively than expected. Trump also called the leaders of the Arab states "very tough people."

He specifically emphasized that the Iranian nuclear program has long been a serious threat to the region and one of the main obstacles to peace.

Now, according to Donald Trump, US troops are "crushing Iran," emphasizing that the situation is developing successfully and that the American army is the strongest in the world.

Asked about the duration of the conflict, Trump noted that he would not like it to drag on. According to him, he believed that the hostilities could last about four weeks, and now, he thinks, the process is even faster than planned.

He also answered affirmatively to the question of whether the US is doing more than just a military operation to help the Iranian people regain control of the country.

"We are absolutely doing that. But right now we want everyone to stay home. It's dangerous outside… We haven't even started hitting them hard yet. The big wave hasn't even come yet. The big wave will come soon."

Earlier, on February 28, Trump announced the start of a large-scale US operation against Iran. Israel also carried out strikes. In response, Iran attacked territories of Persian Gulf countries where American facilities are located.
