Mobile Operators Banned from Driving Belarusians into Large Debt

Now, operators are not allowed to let a subscriber's account have a debt of more than 5 base units — currently 225 rubles. This decree was signed by Prime Minister Turchin.

Apparently, this is a response to stories of people who ended up owing huge amounts in roaming. Many accidentally turned on the internet and received bills for thousands of rubles.

Now this will be impossible by law. However, it is not entirely clear how the ban will work.

In addition, operators were obliged to conduct surveys among subscribers regarding the quality of services.
