«I express my deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs. I share this experience with you: besides my father, I lost my dear and faithful wife, my devoted sister along with her young child, and the husband of my second sister,» — stated Mojtaba Khamenei.
It is noteworthy that among those listed, Mojtaba's mother, Mansoureh Khajasteh Bagherzadeh, is not mentioned, whose death due to injuries was reported by the Iranian publication Sabereen News as early as March 2.
Ten days after that, on March 12, the Iranian agency Fars reported that the information about the death of the wife of Iran's former supreme leader Ali Khamenei was allegedly erroneous.
«In recent days, after the death of the revolutionary leader, some media outlets mistakenly published news about the death of the wife of the deceased great ayatollah,» — the agency briefly reported.
Why the refutation of this information was delayed for so long is not reported.
