American refuelling aircraft crashed in western Iraq
An American KC-135 refuelling aircraft crashed in western Iraq. A pro-Iranian group claimed to have shot it down.

According to a statement from the US Central Command, the incident occurred "in friendly airspace" in western Iraq.
The pro-Iranian group "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" reported that it shot down the aircraft "in defense of our country's sovereignty and airspace."
"Up to six servicemen" were on board the crashed refuelling aircraft, Reuters writes. It is unknown if they survived.
