On the afternoon of March 15, a man went out onto the balcony on the sixth floor of the "Minsk" hotel on Independence Avenue. He climbed over the railing and stood on the edge of the balcony.

Emergency Situations Ministry employees quickly arrived at the scene and deployed an inflatable rescue cushion. A rescuer-psychologist went up to the man on the sixth floor. He negotiated for about 40 minutes.

"I spent a long time clarifying his life situation and assessing his psycho-emotional state. Later, I started talking about the value of life, providing arguments, reminding him of the unconditional love of his mother, who was waiting for him at home," the psychologist told the "Minsk Live" channel.

As a result, the man did everything he was asked: he handed his phone to the rescuer and climbed back into the room. He was not injured.
