Belarusians Named the Song That Often Causes Tears
It's a well-known lullaby.
We are talking about the lullaby "Long Day," the lyrics for which were written by Genadz Buraukin, and the music by Vasil Rainchyk. It was first performed by Yadviha Paplaŭskaya, and it is most likely her voice that this song resonates with in your thoughts.
But the story is not about that – the reason for the publication was a post on Threads, writes Blizko.by.
“Why, when I hear our Belarusian lullaby or sing it to my daughter, do I feel like crying? Especially the line ‘You too lie quietly, quietly by your mother,’” a woman asked on Threads.
Hundreds of comments immediately supported her. Many admitted that they also cry to this lullaby, and not just women.
