Journalists from state media, BelTA writes, asked, "will these people not become agents of influence, turning into a threat to the state in the future?"

"Don't worry that we released them. Everything here is under control. There will be no 2020, guys, in Belarus. I don't want to run around the street with a machine gun. I will not allow this, and everyone is focused on this,"

— Lukashenka stated. — "We understand that they wanted to destroy and turn the country upside down. This was a blow not only to us, but also to our children, grandchildren. Can I allow this? No!"

He added that out of the 235 people who remained in Belarus after their release, about 30 or 40 people allegedly might "pose a threat". All released individuals are under police control.

"We know them. Before releasing them, they were all taken under control by special services and the police," said Alexander Lukashenka.
