Light Aircraft Crashed Near Moscow. It Was Likely Shot Down by Russian Air Defense
On the afternoon of March 20, it became known about the crash of a light Alto NG aircraft in the Kolomna district of the Moscow region, near the Oka River. The aircraft was performing a planned flight from the Torbeyevo-Start airfield in the Stupino urban district, and it became its last.
Two people who were on board the aircraft died.
Soon, the probable cause of the plane crash became known. It is assumed that it was shot down by Russian air defense, as air defense operators mistook it for a drone.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported the downing of 21 drones that were flying towards Moscow.
