Basic Rent Value to Increase in Belarus from April 1
The Belarusian government has approved a new size for the basic rent value, which will be used in calculating rent for state-owned property. The relevant resolution of the Council of Ministers was signed by Alexander Turchin.
According to the document, from April 1, 2026, the basic rent value will be 20 rubles 3 kopecks. This is 1 ruble 26 kopecks more than the current indicator. The increase in the indicator is related to the consumer price index for the past year.
What Does This Indicator Affect?
The basic rent value serves as the basis for determining the cost of rent in the following cases:
- when renting real estate that is state-owned.
- when renting property of economic entities where more than 50% of the shares belong to the state.
This decision will primarily affect business representatives and organizations occupying state-owned premises for offices, production facilities, or retail outlets. The basic rent value is usually reviewed annually, taking into account the inflation rate.
