Import ban on several goods through border with Lithuania extended
Belarus has extended until December 31, 2027, the ban on the import by road transport of a number of goods through the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, which are imported for sale or consumption within the country. This was done by Council of Ministers Resolution No. 145 of March 30, 2026, published today on the National Legal Portal.

Such a ban was first introduced on April 1, 2024, for a period of six months. It was then extended three times for a similar period. Now, it turns out, it has been prolonged for a year and nine months at once.
The ban currently applies to the following goods:
- mineral and carbonated waters;
- other waters;
- waters, including mineral and carbonated, containing added sugar or other sweeteners or flavorings;
- non-alcoholic beer;
- malt beer;
- natural grape wines, including fortified; grape must;
- vermouths and other natural grape wines flavored with plants or aromatic substances, in containers of 2 liters or less;
- other fermented beverages (e.g., cider, perry, mead, sake); mixtures of fermented beverages and mixtures of fermented beverages and non-alcoholic beverages, not elsewhere specified;
- ethyl alcohol and other spirit tinctures, denatured, of any concentration;
- vinegar and its substitutes;
- pneumatic rubber tires and covers;
- used parts and accessories of vehicles.
The ban does not apply, among other exceptions, to goods imported by individuals for personal use.
