Before the start of the first quarter-final match of the Gagarin Cup in Minsk, Belarusian singer Nastassia Krauchanka performed. People were outraged that «Belorussia» could be heard in her song.

Before the teams «Dinamo-Minsk» and «Ak Bars» appeared on the ice, Nastassia Krauchanka drove out onto it in a convertible with red-green flags. She sang a song in support of the Belarusian team.

The audience had big questions about the chorus; many heard the ending as:

«The whole country roots for Dinamo-Minsk

Belorussia».

Belarusians actively began discussing in Threads how offensive this situation was.

«Krauchanka, and Belorussia too, blood from the ears! Ugh!»

«Belarusians, let's ask Krauchanka after the hockey, since when did Belarus become Belorussia?! Simply a disgrace.»

It was also discussed that while all other Belarusians are re-teaching Russians not to say «Belorussia», the pro-government singer at a major event sang precisely the Soviet variant of the country's name.

Someone is even joking that this video should be saved by all Russians and published during any dispute about Belarus: «It could have easily been replaced with «My Belarus». Russians will now stretch the topic to «see, sort things out yourselves there first». But smart people have long sorted it out... Kolkhoz, indeed.»

True, some write that one should listen closely and hear «Belarus and I». But they are in an absolute minority; Krauchanka stretched the «ssss» too distinctly.

By the way, Nastassia Krauchanka — an interesting character on the Belarusian stage. The girl, who was involved in music and dreamed of the stage, in 2020 entered the Institute of Theology at BSU. Why and for what, she herself could not clearly explain.

The girl participated in the first season of the Belarusian show «Factor.by». But she became popular after singing the song «Ramonki» (Daisies) on the Russian show «Zalyatay u trendy» (Fly into Trends), and then uploaded several excerpts of the performance to TikTok. The chorus went viral, many started filming videos to this music — and Nastassia's clips garnered millions of views.

After this, Nastassia was invited to work as a presenter on BT (Belarusian Television). She said she dreamed of being assigned there. How this is possible with a theology degree is not very clear, but it seems that options were found.

Now the young singer is actively used in various ideological events both in Belarus and in Russia.
