Minsk resident was lying on a transformer bed when it suddenly folded
In August 2022, a woman purchased such a bed on one of the online platforms. The woman successfully used the new item for about a year, until the unexpected happened: the bed folded at the moment she was lying on it.

The woman was hospitalized in the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, where she stayed for 10 days.
Then she spent more than a month in a clinical hospital for medical rehabilitation, after which she continued rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. In July 2024, the Medical Rehabilitation Expert Commission (MREC) concluded that there was no need to grant disability in this case. Treatment continued within the framework of temporary incapacity for work.
— According to the expert's conclusion, the plaintiff's injuries resulted from the impact of a hard blunt object and are classified as grievous bodily harm based on the criterion of danger to life, — stated on the website of the Supreme Court.
The injured party demanded compensation for moral damages in the amount of 25,000 rubles and court costs of 800 rubles.
— By decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Minsk, it was ordered to recover from the defendant in favor of the plaintiff monetary compensation for moral damages in the amount of 25,000 rubles, court costs for legal assistance in the amount of 800 rubles, totaling 25,800 rubles.
This amount will have to be paid by the furniture assembler who installed the bed after receiving the order online. It is noted that at that time he was not in an employment relationship with either the seller of the transformer bed or the owner of the website where the woman placed the order for furniture assembly. He was also not an individual entrepreneur and was not registered as self-employed. The court concluded that the work of installing the transformer bed was performed poorly.
The defendant filed an appeal. The judicial board for civil cases of the Minsk City Court left the decision unchanged. The court's decision came into legal force.
