Political prisoner Vegan Khristolyub Bozhi, convicted for criticizing Islam and an anti-war video, died in a penal colony in Russia

On October 13, Vegan Khristolyub was supposed to voluntarily go to a settlement colony in a case of rehabilitation of Nazism, however, he decided to hold an anti-war action and came out with a "No to War" poster.

Yesterday, Vegan Khristolyub Bozhi (name according to passport), a well-known Voronezh preacher and YouTube blogger, died in correctional colony No. 2 of the Voronezh region. His father informed his friends about this. The circumstances of his death are not yet disclosed, SOTAvision reports.

"His father called and informed. He was not told the circumstances of his death, he was told to come on Monday for information.

He had tense relations with the administration of Penal Colony-2, and, according to his father, there were also minor misunderstandings with some cellmates. Therefore, it is still difficult to say what caused his death," a person from Vegan Khristolyub's circle told SOTAvision.

Khristolyub Bozhi was sentenced to three years in prison under articles on offending the feelings of believers and rehabilitating Nazism.

On October 13, 2025, Vegan Khristolyub was supposed to voluntarily go to a settlement colony in a case of rehabilitation of Nazism, however, he decided to hold an anti-war action and came out with a "No to War" poster.

He was detained by the police. The court fined him $400 under the protocol on "discrediting" the army for the picket. For failing to appear at the colony, the court arrested Khristolyub for 30 days, followed by forced escort to the colony. Later, the prisoner's conditions of detention were intensified to general regime, transferring him to PC-2 of the Voronezh region.
