Historical event at the marathon: Sebastian Save ran the distance in less than two hours
Kenyan runner Sebastian Save achieved what was long considered impossible for the human body: on April 26 at the London Marathon, he set a new world record, covering the distance in less than two hours.

Save finished with an astounding result of 1 hour 59 minutes and 30 seconds.
Second to finish was Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha, who also managed to break the two-hour barrier, trailing the winner by just 11 seconds.
This is the first case in history where a person ran a marathon faster than two hours within an official competition.
Until this day, the world record belonged to Kenyan Kelvin Kiptum, who in 2023 in Chicago set a time of 2 hours and 35 seconds.
Save's achievement opens a new era in the history of world athletics.
