IT Specialist Sentenced to Three Years in Hayun Case. She Lived in Vilnius But Periodically Traveled to Her Homeland
Volha Bulanava worked as an accountant for many years, then changed her profession and trained as a UX designer. She was arrested in May 2025.

Volha Bulanava (née Vinyatskaya) is 43 years old. She is from Babruisk. After graduating from the local agricultural-economic college in 2004, she got a job as a PC operator at the Babruisk Shoe Factory.
Soon she went to study in Minsk. Since 2005, Volha worked as a manager at the company "Brush Master". And concurrently received higher education at the accounting and economics faculty of the Belarusian State Economic University.
In 2006, Volha joined the company "Lonza". She worked there for over 11 years, rising to the position of Deputy Chief Accountant. Concurrently, in 2009-2010, she also worked as a chief accountant at another firm.
After dedicating over 10 years to finance, Bulanava decided to radically change her life. In 2018-2019, she completed training at IT Academy and obtained the profession of UI/UX designer. Afterward, she found work in IT.

Judging by social networks, she lived in Lithuania until her arrest but traveled to Belarus once every couple of months. The woman has a husband and a child.
Volha was arrested on May 21, 2025, and placed in a pre-trial detention center. She was convicted in the Minsk City Court under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code. According to Dissidentby, the persecution is related to the Hayun case.
On January 3, 2026, Volha was sentenced to three years in a penal colony.
