Communication restrictions in Moscow before the May 9 parade will become more powerful, a source close to Rostelecom told the BBC, and was also confirmed by an interlocutor close to one of the mobile operators.
According to the publication, on May 5, 7, and 9, not only mobile communication but also SMS will be restricted, and not only in the center of Moscow but also within the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD).
The restriction will even affect the operation of "white lists". The authorities include internet resources that are accessible during mobile internet restrictions in these "white lists".
In early March, mobile internet began to be regularly disconnected in the center of Moscow — navigation, payment terminals, and even paid public toilets stopped working. There was virtually no internet for three weeks; it was restored on March 24 without any announcements or explanations.
