Lithuania Officially Introduces Fuel Import Limit from Belarus
The Lithuanian customs officially confirmed that restrictions on fuel imports to Lithuania from Belarus will come into force on May 3, 2026. This is reported by abw.by.
The document was published on the official website of the Lithuanian customs. As a result, from May 3, no more than 200 liters of fuel can be imported into Lithuania from Russia and Belarus in standard vehicle tanks.
The restrictions will be in effect until December 31, 2027.
Previously, Lithuanian authorities stated that excess fuel in vehicle tanks is often illegally sold in Lithuania, causing the state to lose tax revenues.
From January 1, 2025, Latvia introduced a limit on fuel imports by carriers from third countries. The volume of diesel fuel in the tank also must not exceed 200 liters.
