The index measures how evenly the population is distributed among religions, with higher scores indicating a more balanced mix.
Singapore ranks first in the rating, as no single religious group there accounts for more than a third of the population. Suriname and Taiwan follow immediately after.
Also included in the list of countries with high religious diversity are South Korea, Mauritius, Guinea-Bissau, Togo, and Benin.
At the bottom of the ranking are countries such as Yemen, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran, and Morocco, where religious diversity is almost non-existent — Islam completely dominates here.
Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Latvia are among the countries with medium religious diversity, while Lithuania and Poland have low diversity.
