It became known what's happening with the construction of the water park in Vitebsk
Preparations for the construction of a water park in Vitebsk are ongoing, although the actual works have not yet started — the project is currently in the development and approval stage, writes Office Life.
The water park is planned to be created on the basis of two former buildings of the 'Vityaz' plant, which have been purchased by investors. The total area of the future complex will be about 14,000 square meters. Of these, approximately 3,500 square meters will be allocated for the water zone.
The project includes four water slides, 16 types of saunas, a fitness center, a hotel, a co-working space, and a large parking lot for more than 300 cars. The complex will be able to accommodate about 1300 people simultaneously.
The project is being handled by 'FS Group'. Initially, investors studied European experience and collaborated with European equipment manufacturers. However, company representatives recently visited China and held negotiations with Chinese partners. Now, the Chinese side is finalizing the technological solutions for the water park to match their equipment.
According to representatives of the city executive committee, investors already have the necessary permits and land plot. They are currently working on securing additional territory and preparing documents for engineering networks.
Authorities expect that in 2026, the project will undergo state examination, after which the main construction phase will begin.
The project is planned to be financed through a bank credit line. Previously, the company also sought additional investors, including among Chinese businesses.
Vitebsk officials first mentioned the intention to build a water park in Vitebsk in the autumn of 2024, and in January 2025, Aliaksei Heroeu, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, announced the final decision and the presence of an investor.
If the plans come to fruition, Vitebsk will become the third regional center, after Minsk and Grodno, to have a water park.
Additionally, in Belarus, such facilities are currently also present in Zhlobin, Maladziechna, Kobryn, Pruzhany, and the agro-town of Aziory near Grodno.
