The eighth book of poems by poet and translator Ihar Kulikou, "City N.", has been released by the "Yanushkevich" publishing house, gathering works written between 2024 and 2026. The collection tells the story of inhabiting and living through space and time in three capitals (Minsk, Vilnius, and Warsaw), as well as other cities and places on Earth, writes bellit.info.

The author himself presents the book as follows:

“This book is about Minsk, Vilnius, Warsaw, and other cities and towns that the author encountered on his journey into a distant foreign land. This is not so much a collection of poems, but rather **linguistic snapshots**, an attempt to capture space and time: his own – to prevent inevitable alienation in unfamiliar conditions, others' – to inhabit and make new places similar to his own, not to appropriate them, but at least to make them cozier.

Linguistic photos are supplemented by ordinary photos, which not only converse with adjacent texts but also form a small book within a book. Most of the material was created outside Belarus, and only some poems and photos date back to before emigration – in a sense, this book is published in a race against oblivion as an external carrier of memory about what is important, what allows one to stay afloat in existence. Only this importance, often sorrowful and painful, is actually weightless, like sunlight, because it illuminates the coming day.”

The book also includes a translation of one poem by Lithuanian poet Henrikas Radauskas.

The new release can be purchased at the "Knihauka" bookstore in Warsaw, and can also be ordered on Allegro.pl and Knihauka.com.
