One of the state newspapers reported how teenagers are recruited as drug couriers. Among them are those who, due to their young age, cannot yet be criminally prosecuted:
"In Minsk, a 12-year-old teenager was involved in an illegal business. He was promised $1,000 for courier work; with this money, the minor dreamed of buying an electric scooter. He collected stashes and packed them into smaller ones, then distributed them at specified points. A little over a week later, he was detained. As a result, his parents will have to answer with the full force of the law."
The parents went through the following sanctions for this:
"Administrative proceedings for their failure to fulfill their duties in raising children. As a result, they had to pay a substantial fine. The family was placed on preventive registration, and individual preventive work was carried out with the children by employees of the inspectorate for juvenile affairs."
