The dictionary was compiled by prominent Belarusian linguists of the younger and older generations: Mikita Baravik, Yuhasya Volkava, Ihar Kapylov, Uladzimir Koshchanka, Maryna Yaromka.

The almost thousand-page "Chinese-Belarusian Dictionary" contains over 30,000 words and phraseological expressions of modern Chinese with their equivalents in Belarusian.

It was published by "Kalaurhrad" publishing house. It was developed, as bellit.info writes, by the Confucius Institute of Sinology of BSU and the Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The dictionary includes commonly used, colloquial, archaic vocabulary, as well as scientific, technical, medical, and socio-political terms.

The publication includes a transcription table for rendering Chinese syllables into Belarusian. It was developed based on the Chinese phonetic alphabet (Pinyin) and the principles of rendering Chinese syllables using the International Phonetic Alphabet, taking into account transcription systems in other languages that use Cyrillic. The relevance of approving the table as a norm is due to the need to unify the transfer of Chinese proper names into the Belarusian language in the information space, including educational, translation, media, and publishing activities. This is intended to ensure consistency and uniformity in the use of Chinese names, terms, and other lexical units in official documents, scientific works, media, and other fields.

Details on purchasing the dictionary can be obtained by phone: (017) 259-73‑11 (Julia Nikolaevna).
