Israel and Hezbollah Conclude Ceasefire Agreement
With the mediation of the United States and Qatar, and with the assistance of Iran, Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah have reached a truce agreement, Reuters reports, citing a high-ranking American official.
According to Reuters, the ceasefire regime already began operating on Friday at 4:00 PM local time. Details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.
This news comes amidst another round of escalation: just a few hours before the truce announcement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had vowed to inflict a serious blow on Hezbollah in response to the deaths of four Israeli soldiers during a night attack.
A high-ranking source in Israel stated that the agreement does not limit the army's actions in the event of threats to soldiers and residents of the country's north, and also allows for the continued destruction of Hezbollah's infrastructure.
