Ubisoft Co-founder Claude Guillemot Died in Plane Crash in France
The crash occurred yesterday afternoon in La Baule.

A light aircraft with two people on board crashed at approximately 5 PM. Claude Guillemot was on board.
He is one of the five Guillemot brothers who founded Ubisoft in 1986 and transformed the company into one of the world's largest video game publishers.
The Cessna 421 aircraft, owned by 69-year-old Claude, was performing a flight from the city of Rennes. A flight instructor died along with Guillemot. 29 units of special equipment were deployed to clear the aftermath of the accident.
Claude Guillemot held the position of CEO of Guillemot Corporation and was a member of the Ubisoft Board of Directors. Under his leadership, iconic franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Rayman, and Prince of Persia were released.
Ubisoft also created Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Far Cry 2, Hoodlum Havoc, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3, Raven Shield, and Beyond Good & Evil.
