Brazil national team clinched a comeback victory over Japan and advanced to the 1/8 finals of the World Cup
The Brazil national team advanced to the 1/8 finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, defeating the Japan team with a score of 2:1.

Japanese footballers opened the scoring in the 29th minute thanks to a goal by Kaishu Sano. In the second half, Casemiro equalized, scoring in the 56th minute. The winning goal for Brazil came from Gabriel Martinelli, who scored in injury time – in the 90+ 6th minute.
In the match for a place in the quarter-finals, the Brazil national team will face the winner of the Ivory Coast — Norway pair.
Earlier, after defeating the South African Republic national team, the Canada national team advanced to the 1/8 finals of the World Cup.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is taking place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. The reigning world champion remains the Argentina national team.
