The option of freezing the conflict in Ukraine is not suitable for Russia, stated Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Galuzin in an interview with TASS.

«As Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated, without eliminating the root causes of this crisis, no "freezing" is possible. It is obvious that [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky has lost all connection with reality and is trying to escalate the conflict, causing dissatisfaction even in those countries that Kyiv considers partners,» he said.

Galuzin mentioned Ukrainian strikes on energy infrastructure, including facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which, according to him, «operates primarily in the interests of the Kazakh economy». The diplomat called these attacks «terrorist».

He also noted that the "contradictory" actions of the United States in Ukraine "do not align with the pursuit of peace," mentioning recent statements by Secretary of State Marco Rubio that "Washington does not consider itself a 'neutral mediator'."

Moscow, according to Galuzin, is, for its part, ready to implement its goals «taking into account the Anchorage agreements» and is convinced that «it is possible to resolve the situation around Ukraine by diplomatic methods if there is appropriate political will».
