In Talachyn District, an excavator operator died in a peat quarry
At the beginning of August, a tragedy occurred at a production facility in Talachyn District. An excavator operator was working in a quarry where peat harvesting was being carried out, reports the State Forensic Examination Committee.

During the work, the equipment veered into a ditch and overturned. As a result, parts of the excavator pinned the worker. The man sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
To accurately determine the cause of death, a forensic medical examination was appointed. It showed that the man died from mechanical asphyxia — suffocation that occurred as a result of severe compression of the chest and abdomen.
