The study of unmanned aerial vehicles and tactical medicine will be included in the updated curriculum for the subject «pre-conscription and medical training» for Belarusian tenth-graders in the new academic year. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubay, writes BelTA.
As the deputy head of the department emphasized, in the new academic year, the school education system continues to develop in accordance with the tasks set by the head of state.
«We are talking about technical adjustments to curricula and programs. No new subjects are being added, and there is no redistribution of disciplines by class. The main goal of today's dialogue platforms is to discuss with local specialists specific points that require attention before September 1st», explained Alexander Kadlubay.
The Deputy Minister placed special emphasis on the content of the subject «pre-conscription and medical training». Timely and practice-oriented changes have been introduced into the curriculum for tenth grades.
«We have strengthened the practical component. For tenth-grade boys, a 10-hour course on studying and operating unmanned aerial vehicles has been included in the program. For girls, the practical block on medical training has been significantly expanded – elements of tactical medicine have been introduced. We have shifted the balance towards practical lessons and increased their volume. We have moved from pure theory to specific skills necessary in real conditions», said the Deputy Minister.
Alexander Kadlubay highly appreciated the experience of conducting 10-day training camps for tenth-graders, which this year for the first time took place in an updated off-site format at military units and health resorts.
«We received exceptionally positive feedback from the young men themselves and colleagues from the security bloc of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Committee, the Ministry for Emergency Situations, and the Ministry of Defense. Especially from those boys who underwent training camps in an off-site format, rather than at educational institutions. This format ensures maximum acquisition of practical skills and helps team cohesion. Interaction with military unit 5448 is one of the best examples in the country, and we see our task as maximizing the scaling of this experience across all of Belarus», emphasized the representative of the Ministry of Education.
