He told this during the solemn opening ceremony of the festival "Call of Polesie," his press service reports.
"Once I was fishing for catfish there. I caught a catfish — 54 kg. I was pulling it out for a whole hour. We pulled it out with a gaff, put it in the boat, and it looked with sad eyes. And after that, I don't fish for catfish anymore — those eyes are before my eyes. It's a pity for a big fish," admitted Alexander Lukashenka.
Lukashenka had already told this story. However, back then the catfish weighed 57 kg.
