A resident of Minsk published a photo of a wine list from one of the capital's restaurants on Threads. Users were surprised by the five-digit price on the menu: a bottle of French Petrus 2007 costs 24.3 thousand rubles, writes the publication Smartpress.

At the same time, the restaurant also has another very expensive French wine — Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echezeaux Grand Cru 2008. It is offered for 22.7 thousand rubles, which is slightly cheaper than Petrus.

Petrus 2007 is a collectible wine from Pomerol on the right bank of Bordeaux and one of the most famous names in the world of wine. The grapes for it are grown on a small plot with characteristic blue clays. The 2007 vintage is not considered the most legendary for Petrus, but it is valued for its elegance and more restrained character. In its aroma and taste, one can sense black cherries, blackberries, plums, truffles, cedar, tobacco, and spices.

The market price of such a bottle is significantly lower than the restaurant price. European sellers offer Petrus 2007 for approximately 2880 euros, or about 10 thousand rubles. At a Sotheby's auction in 2024, such a bottle was estimated at 1800-2400 euros.

Thus, the indicative market price is about 2-3 thousand euros, although the final amount depends on the bottle's origin, storage conditions, and label condition.

It turns out that the Minsk restaurant sells the wine for more than twice its indicative market price. For rare collectible wines, a high restaurant markup is not unusual, but for a Minsk menu, such a price still looks very impressive.

24.3 thousand rubles is already an amount for which one can buy housing in some Belarusian district centers. True, this mostly refers to atypical options. For example, in Slutsk, a three-room apartment of 38.9 square meters in a blocked residential building was offered for 16.3 thousand rubles.
