Vilnius Airport Operations Halted Again

On Tuesday, around 11 AM, flights at Vilnius Airport were temporarily suspended due to an unidentified object in the air. Operations resumed around 11:30 AM, reports LRT.
Darius Buta, a representative of the National Crisis Management Center, told LRT that flights were suspended due to an unidentified object that the Air Force is currently trying to identify.
"The situation is not yet entirely clear. According to the latest information, Vilnius Airport has resumed operations. Work was suspended because NATO air defense mission fighters took off to identify an unidentified object that was detected on radars," he said.
During the night, Vilnius Airport operations were also suspended due to a drone, believed to have flown in from the territory of Belarus. The drone was shot down by a NATO fighter jet in Kaunas County.
