Former England national football team player hit by a pitch roller right during a match VIDEO
The injured person himself reacted to the incident with humor.
Former English Premier League and England national team footballer Andros Townsend, who plays for Thai club «Prachuap», avoided injuries after being run over by a pitch roller during the match's break.
The incident happened on Saturday. Townsend left the training area and didn't notice the roller approaching him. The machinery knocked the player off his feet and ran over him.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, the footballer did not sustain any injuries. He came onto the field at the end of the second half and helped his team secure a victory.
Later, Andros Townsend tried to make light of the incident. On social media, he wrote: «Turns out, away trips to Stoke City (name of an English team — NN) weren't so bad after all.»
