Pavel Sevyarynets Elected Chairman of BCD
Former political prisoner Pavel Sevyarynets has been elected chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy (BCD) party. The corresponding decision was made by delegates of the party congress on October 24 in Białystok, Poland.

The election of the party leader was one of the key issues of the congress, which was attended by about 150 people. The participants decided to abandon the previous co-chairmanship system and switch to single-person leadership.
The second candidate for chairman, Georgiy Dzmitruk, withdrew his candidacy in favor of Pavel Sevyarynets.
