Emilia Karneiсhuk is one year old, she is from Gomel. She has SMA, and her treatment requires $1.8 million.

Siarhei Yermak decided to walk 100 kilometers along the Ratomka — Minsk — Slutsk route to draw attention to Emilia Karneiсhuk — a one-year-old girl suffering from SMA.

Emilia Karneiсhuk is one year old, she is from Gomel. She has SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) — a disease in which motor neurons in the spinal cord gradually die, leading to increasing muscle weakness.

To stop the progression of the disease, the drug Zolgensma is needed, costing $1.8 million. In Belarusian rubles, this is approximately 5.3 million.

To help the girl, Siarhei Yermak came up with a challenge: to walk one hundred kilometers from Ratomka to Slutsk. He covered his journey on social media.

As a result, he walked 107 km to Slutsk, finishing the journey at midnight.

"Did you think that after 107 km, or 152,627 steps from Ratomka to Slutsk, I would lie flat all day recovering? Not at all! The best recovery for muscles is active recovery. My morning started with a light walk on the treadmill, and right now I'm going for a 2-3 km run to get in shape. The 'Marathon of a Good Heart' on foot is completed! I finished at night, when it was already 00:01 on the clock. The banks in Slutsk, of course, were closed at that time. But I keep my word!" — he reported.

Details for helping the girl can be found on her Instagram account via the link.
